Water Sellers: City apartments are usually sold as bare walls, no paint, no doors, windows or much else. Plumbing consists of having cold water and drains available in what will probably be your kitchen and bathroom. For hot water gas or electric wall mounted heaters can be purchased. Most vent inside the house so doors or windows have to be opened to vent the exhaust. For the majority of city dwellers hot water is not available in their apartments. Water is purchased from a nearby vendor. Thermos are used to carry home the hot water for drinking and bathing. The blue unit is the hotwater heater. This lady caters to three apartment complexes. The majority of residents don't have hot water so she does a brisk business. This is in the heart of Huangshi city. |
