THINGS THAT ARE JUT NOT TRUE

There are many things I hear about which are false.   They are not true.  They do not have any reason for them in science.  You should be careful about things you believe and try to make sure they are true.  You should have a good reason to believe anything, expecially things about diet, exercise or your health in general.

Here are some of the things I've heard:

Running will make you taller.  This is not true.  You get taller by natural body growth which is mostly controlled by your genes.   Your genes come from your parents.  You cannot change your genes.  You grow the most in your puberty years which are about the years from 6 years old to 18 years old.  Puberty comes at different times in different people.  Your body changes in many way and one of them is growing taller.  After about 20 years old you stop growing taller.

You can't do much about growing taller.  The only thing you can do is make sure you are eating well and giving your body the things it need when it wants to grow.  You can't control it.  People sometimes are short when there is not food for them to eat.  When the body wants to grow it does not have the foods it needs to make growth happen.  You need to always eat well especially in your teen years 12-19.

Some exercises will make you fat.  This is not true.  Exercising burns energy.  It does not add fat.  It reduces fat.  You get fat from eating too much or not exercising.  If you eat your regular good meals and have an ice cream all the time you will get fat.  Exercising will no make you fat but ice cream will.
