Daily Life in China                  

This is a Chinese crab farm.  Crab are grown in cages suspended by strings tied to the 4 corners of the cages.  The cages are suspended from the floating plastic soda bottles.

She's going to tie strings to the corners of each pod then to bottles.  The pods float in the river and the current brings food to the shrimp or crabs.
