Chinese Chair Making Tools:

I have not seen a US style hand saw since being in China.   Finish carpenters use a buck saw and wood block planes.  There are metal planes here but I've never seen one in use.  There are power tools here like routers, cutoff saws and power nailers but the are expensive and only some city crews will them.   On an average small shop makover in city all the work will be done with bucksaws and block planes.   Raw rough planks go to the site and are sized and finished at the site.
