Potala Temple, inside:

Inside Potala temple are many artifacts from various periods of Tibetan and Chinese history.  Most are housed in dark rooms with poor to no light  or behind glass so difficult to get a picture of.  There are many people here in the various sub-temple rooms so very crowded and difficult to get an open shot of something especially with people walking around. Most of the exhibits are behind glass walls so loaded with reflections and making it impossible to use flash.

The outside walls here (below) are the insides of the Potala temple.  The building to the left is the main building of the Potala temple and very Chinese.

There are lots of exhibitions and shops on the three floors of the inside temple.  One interesting section was of pictures depicting Buddhist like hell scenes similar Dante's Inferno except the tortures Asian.  How shameful of me to not have known the existence of such a concept.

The main inside temple and the center highlight of the Potala temple (at least Chinese section.)  Pretty dull inside but the building was wonderful.  This building is a few stories and has a theater stage attached (below).

Left: top of the main Chinese building in the Potala temple. There are a few more levels above this not shown.

Great decorative work.

The main structure housing the gods is 4 or 5 stories high and housed in it's own structure which is part of the main Patala wall, now lighting and impossible to get a feel for the whole structure which is huge.
