Potala Temple:

Potala temple was built to please the visiting Lama's. There's 20 or so buildings that make up the temple with the main building being a replica of Potala temple in Lhasa, Tibet.  What's a bit strange is in the center of the red building is a few large Chinese style buildings. But the provided temple was so nice the visiting Tibetan's never complained.

The buildings are terraced going to the main temple so quite a walk with many stairs.

A few pictures of the main temple to give an idea of the impressive size to the complex.

Some of the decorative leading to the main temple.  It's tough to get any pictures because in summer there are literally thousands of people walking around and you have to wait around to get a clear shot of anything.

Decorative bell tower.

Commemorative Steele.

One of the many outbuildings next to the main temple.  There are many outbuildings which housed many delightful things but the buildings were dark, without lighting, poorly lit or behind glass so tough to get pictures.  Plus there were zillions of people in the way.
