Below is Dawei reading: Dawei reads a 1 page story. The story has 14 mp3 files. Each file is 1 to 3 sentences long. You can download them all to your MP3 and play them. You can have your MP3 play them all together for speed and comprehension practice. You can play them one at a time and have your MP3 repeat for pronunciation practice. The reading speed is slightly below normal speed. Read about this article at the "Text is here" link.
Updates: The food list has been expanded quite a bit on 2-2-2006. I'll be adding to the Oxford and Poems later. The poems are not "The 300 Tang Poems". They are short poems mostly from Tang poets that are memorized by every person in China in primary school. They are short, interesting and another approach to learning Chinese. Some comments below the table. Right click to download.
The children's stories are commonly available in most small and big cities. The books are in sets and have hanzi, pinyin and English. They are great for a beginning learner that knows about 300-600 Chinese words (pinyin) or 100 to 200 characters. There are not that many books that have Hanzi, pinyin and English so finding these stories should not be that difficult. Ask the store owner, they know their books. There's at least 8 different books in the sets that I've seen and all are sold individually for 3-9 Yuan. Three at small shops, 9 from Xinhua. There are lots of children's story books with hanzi and pinyin but I've only found this one set that has all three. ¡¡ |
