Paiwei and Altars:

Altars and decorations vary significantly depending on the size of the family, family economic condition, and adherence to tradition.

On festival days the poles will be used to sholder the elder in a procession.

Paiwei may be for individuals or branches of the family.

Fairly new altar with some very old paiwei.

Next four from from the same altar.

One complex which was mostly abandoned had a small casket making shop.  The wood is pine or pine like.  These caskets were of 2x3's and very rough.  The shape is standard.

Below 4 photo's from the same citang: Note the difference in bricks.  The gray brick is the location of the original citang.  The family has just finished building a new larger citang encompassing the original.
