Daily Life in China

City of Marlborough, Massachusetts:

View down Marlborough Main Street at 10am on a Saturday morning.  Not many people on the street walking around.  There are shops here but most people shop outside the city center at malls in the countryside.  There are about 39,000 people here.

The streets leading in and out of the city have small malls or large stores where most of the shopping is done these days.  No one is walking to get places and there are no buses here like in China.

Church at the top of Marlborough Main Street.  The public library is just in back of the church.

Marlborough public library.  To the left and in back are new wings which were built in the last 4 years.  The library has 16 computers for use connected to the internet for anyone's free use..

Church located in a building.  Many new religions to the area start in buildings due to lack of funds to build their own church.

Longfellows Wayside Inn at Marlborough.  This was once the private home of Nathaniel Horthorne.

A street close to the main street leading out of the city.  There are many streets like this with single houses.  Many have been converted into apartments.

Older large homes on the main street leading out of the city.  Most have been converted into 2-4 apartments.

Average sidewalk in any American town.  Not very wide because there are only a few people walking around at any time.  It is never crowded.
